Music is just noise
at its very heart. The thing about noise is it usually means there is
some thing alive making that noise. When noise gets organized and
develops a rhythm it becomes music. Organized noise not only points to
life but most of the time means some one is feeling something. Music is
a sign of happiness usually. Although music can be used to express
almost any feeling, when most people hear music they associate it with
happiness.
Throughout history music has been used in many ways. There are many
legends of peoples of different cultures using drumbeats to
communicate. The musical beat of a drum was used to send messages from
island to island in the pacific for hundreds of years. Music has been
used to lead armies into battle and blared at the enemy to torture and
steal sleep during wartime. Every major political or religious event
uses music. Education draws on simple musical rhythms to teach
everything from the alphabet to zoology
Music is so much a part of the human mind and the world we all live in
it cannot be separated from them. If you go to a place where there is
life and listen, you can always find a rhythm or musical beat. Even in
a crowded fast food restaurant for lunch, if you listen there will be a
beat. The thing about it is, if the beat gets off or interrupted look
around the restaurant some one is having a rough time. There will be a
spill or loud complaining customer; something will not be going well.
When the musical rhythm gets started again things will be going well.
This is why music is most often associated with happiness.
